Génestine

Founded in 1845 in Clermont-Ferrand by Antoine Génestine, the distillery took off thanks to his son François. A visionary and pioneer in the field of spirits, he exported his liqueurs and aperitifs to the four corners of the world. In 1886, François Génestine obtained permission from Auguste Bartholdi, architect of the Statue of Liberty, to use his Vercingétorix as an emblem. It wasn't until 1903 that the statue took pride of place on the Place de Jaude and became the symbol of the town...

In 2021, Génestine will be reborn thanks to a group of enthusiasts of French spirits and old-fashioned liqueurs. The aim is to revive the "Génestine" brand, create a link between the past, present and future, and perpetuate age-old French know-how.

Génestine products are made with purely natural ingredients, pure Auvergne water and super-fine alcohol, no colouring, no artificial flavouring, no preservatives. Untreated, hand-zested fruit, top-quality wild plants, 100% French sugar. Little or no filtration, gravity handling, hand blending.
